I have a 2018 Jayco Redhawk 22 SE. The hot water heater just started to only last a few minutes of hot water. Does not matter if it is on Electric or Propane. I believe it is a 6 gallon Atwood water heater. I can get luke warm water if I blend it with the cold water and it last longer. The tank feels warm and hot to the touch,. It was working fine. Any ideas? Outside water valves are closed. Reading it could be a check valve. My tank does not look like it has one. Any one know if my rv would or should have a check valve. No leaks anywhere.

When this happened to me - on the old RV - it was because the bypass valves were in 'bypass' mode. But you said the tank is hot?

Thanks I will triple check the valves. I have been winterizing and unwinterizing alot because I go to my property where my RV is stored and use it. Maybe I missed a valve open or closed all the way.

I'll confess it caught me off guard when it happened. But I had the exact same symptoms - a squirt of hot/warm water, then same temp as the cold. What about powering down the water heater, letting it cool and then opening the drain plug and seeing if it was full?

The check valve is the gray plastic fitting at the top connection. Usually if a check valve goes bad, there will be little or no hot water flow at any faucet.

Also, when you shower, turn on the electric and the propane to extend the time you have hot water

Just a update, I have been using the rv a lot this winter. Winterizing and de winterizing. It was the valves ,I had one turned the wrong way, Done it right a bunch of times, all it takes is one wrong time. At least it was a quick fix after some struggle.
