I know these tanks come with a spot for a 3rd 30 lbs propane tank. I have an extra tank at home, do I need anything to install it? Once installed are all three plumbed together or does the 3rd tank only service the furnace or H2O tank?

Thanks for the knowledge

We have our walk thru and delivery scheduled for Saturday :)

On my ‘16 model, the third tank is for the generator (if you have one)...it is not plumbed into anything else. My trailer didn’t come with the genny so mine is just a place to store an extra tank.

On my 2017 377 the third thank has a line with quick disconnect for stove in outdoor kitchen and a line going to rear of camper with quick disconnect for bumper grill I'm guessing.

So for a third answer to you question...

On my 2017 i was “told” during the PDI that it was connected to the main line that supplied the entire camper. So if the two tanks with the auto changeover regulator ran out i could manually open up the third tank and supply the camper with propane from it. But i have not had to do that yet. Now i am going to have to trace where the line goes. I do know that i can run the outside kitchen stove without the third tank on.

I was told at my pdi third tank was not connected to other two and it only ran outdoor kitchen. I was wondering why they would not have them connected together. I will take a look tomorrow.

2018 and mine not connected to anything. Now i am second guessing and will have to check before bed. If it is connected i will update.

So I looked this morning and my 3rd propane tank does in fact connect to the main supply line for the trailer. At the 3rd tank after the regulator there is a T with a small line that runs to where the generator box is located (I don't have the generator but the unit did come with the generator prep option) and then a large line that connects into the main propane supply line under the other two propane tanks.

So in my case the 3rd propane tank can run all the propane stuff in the unit.

Yeah, I can see if your rig was ordered with the gen prep then there would be a connection for the third tank

But if it wasn't, like mine, I'm pretty sure nothing is connected to where the third tank would go, as Cflowers said. Pretty sure that's what I saw on my 2018.

Our rig does not have the genny prep, I guess I can use it for an extra tank storage. If we do not have the genny prep is the hardware in place to hold an extra tank or do I need to order that?

The tank bracket was there on my 2018.

OK
Here is a different one for a 2018 377 RLBH.
I had the tank strap(removed to convert the space for storage) but no propane hose. Was told at the PDI that the area was for storing a third tank. We do not have the gen prep either. I do however, have a “T” in the line coming from the other side under the dual tank area that has a cap on the side for the third tank. I could, in theory, add the propane hose and regulator along with the strap and tank and then have the third tank as part of the system.
For now, we will keep the extra storage space for leveling blocks and fire starting bucket etc.

I did check today and there is nothing in mine but the strap to hold the tank. I have an extra tank in there for a back up. It would be nice to hook up to that T in the line for plumbing them all together. May be a new mod. Hmmmmm!!

My unit was not generator prepped. it has a place for a third tank on the door-side, but it's just a storage bracket. No connection. I removed the bracket, and use the compartment to store leveling blocks.
