2019.5 Seneca roof construction

I have a couple of pics showing that I went down next to the half bath (37K) and the refrigerator to where the furnace is. It wasn't too bad, it's just not where I wanted to go. I had to drill a large hole (1/2") next to the vent to get the lines through. I'll be caulking the heck out of the vent cover when I'm done.

I'm posting about the other solar stuff in the inverter upgrade thread Brian started here.

Well having just went through swapping out my vent caps, I can see yours is installed wrong, just like I found mine. The ABS pipe is suppose to be sticking out of the base collar at least 1/2" to seal off vent gasses from leaking down into your coach. I even found that they had drilled through my AC ducting for the vent and that was where my "Mystery" odor was coming from. You vent pipe should look like this first picture.

I used a plate with 5 groves for cables. I run my Wingard and my cell phone booster under the plate into the cabinet above the microwave. Should work with solar cables just as easy.

I have an 1 1/2" abs coupling and a short piece of pipe for this and the others, which I'm assuming are wrong too. I remember that picture and will be looking at the ductwork also. Then I'm going to town with the caulk gun.

I just took out one of the Winegard units and am capping off all the lines. Those cover plates are cool.

OK, I think I have a plan that will work.
The duct work under the lav cabinet goes through the shore power bay behind the reel. There is enough room for cable to share the hole in the floor.
I can drill a hole in the ceiling behind the pantry door/shelf and bring the cable down through the lav shelving.
(I cannot get these photos to upload in the correct orientation)

Well, I redid this vent. The jack wasn't even centered over the pipe. I was able to square up the pipe, add a coupler and extended the pipe to above the jack. Removed the old caulking and added new. It's almost as fun as icing a cake.

Just try to keep your solar wires as short as possible. Jayco running the wires around the inside of the exterior walls add so many feet of wire. AC, it doesn't matter as much as DC.

Well, not one of my four vents were even close to coming out of the vent jack. All were cut off at an angle for some reason and the jacks were not close to being centered. I cut the pipe level, added a coupler and some pipe and they are all in the proper place. Dicor is your friend when you seal all of the openings and jacks.
