2022 Jayflight 212QBW "Inverter"

In my storage underneath, there is a wire that says, "From load center" with arrows pointing down the wire. It also says, "To 120v receptacles" with arrows pointing the other way down the wire. This is where my inverter is supposed to go. Is it that easy? All the Youtubes make it seem so complicated. My hope is to just buy an inverter maybe from Harbor Freight and stick it in so I can run things off the outlets (1000watts maybe) when there's no shore power or generator.

You still need to run the 12 volt from the battery. It is probably only wired to run the TV and maybe on other outlet so don't expect them all to be working after you install it.
 
I wonder if anyone out there can give me or point me towards actual directions to do this. It would be great if Jayco would tell me how ;).
 
I did not. But I figured it out for myself. I cut the wire and put the "out to receptacles" on a DPDT switch with "off" in the mid toggle position (switch is about $90). I had two inputs to the switch, One from "load center" and one from my inverter. Works great.
 
I am jealous. I have a 2021 model and does not have that invertor prep wiring. I installed my invertor in the storage area, along with my Lithium battery and just plug the shore power lead into the invertor when I want AC. Caution! You must remove the fuse from the power panel that sends 12 DC to the battery, else you will be charging the battery via the invertor!
I purchased an invertor with a remote control so I could easily turn it on and off to save draining the battery when 110v not needed.
BTW. I have solar, so don't need to charge battery from shore power, and as the trailer came with lead acid batteries, it would not charge my Lithium very well anyway.
When invertor (2000w) is on, all outlets have 120v and I can use microwave, tv, plug in toaster, Starlink etc. Obviously not air conditioner.

Batteries up front, inverter in storage, toggle for outlet source power, and inverter power on/off.

I know this is an old post so maybe I should start a new thread - I'll put here just in case someone here has some input.

I too have the wiring shown in the original post but my Jayco already has a 200W factory solar panel on the roof. I also have changed out the battery to a lipo and everything works fine. Because there are situations where I park the rig in the shade - I'd like to add a portable suitcase style 200W solar panel so that I can set it out 20-30 ft from the camper. My original thought was to not use the wire shown in the picture but just setup the portable with it's own controller directly to charge the battery. Is there any reason that wouldn't work?

My inverter is positioned on that labelled wire which puts it between the breaker panel and the outlets served. I also installed two solar panels that go to a controller and then directly to the batteries.
The switch I installed toggles the outlets between the inverter (batteries) and the breaker panel. hope that makes sense

This is the way that I would do it - set it up for a separate solar controller so you don't have to play with the OEM wiring down to the original solar controller. You can get a Victron 75/15 on Amazon (SmartSolar with Bluetooth) for under $70. I'm not sure if you have a bus bar or something, you would just need to wire in the output from the new solar controller to get to the batteries. You can add in a variety of connectors to hook things up, Anderson, SAE (up to about 30 amps), etc. Some suitcases (Renogy) also come with a solar controller (although it's PWM).

I was looking at this Renogy model and was hoping that we could bypass hooking into the current solar system and just hook it directly to the battery - since it has it's own charge controller.

That will work, that's the one I was mentioning. The PWM controller is not as efficient, but will work fine.
