Forgive me this goofy question, but does a 2022 Swift TL have a spare tire?

The story is that we've just bought one, had many problems with this brand new vehicle, had to fix them all myself (at my expense) and are now finally preparing to take our first overnight trip in it.

It's become clear that there is NOT a whole lot of storage in this vehicle .. something we kinda knew before buying it, but didn't think about too much at that time.

Well, now, we're thinking about it, and considering every cubic inch of space.

One of the things that stands out is the great big tool kit for the spare tire. Of COURSE this has to stay, one would think; a flat is possible at any time and you have to be able to change it.

But where's the spare tire?

The Jayco manual is useless; an embarrassment in fact.

And the vehicle didn't come with a RAM manual. I have downloaded a couple of manuals from the RAM site (and others), but none look quite like my vehicle.

Looking under the vehicle as best I can, and using the movie feature of my phone, I can't see anything that looks like a tire in the places the RAM manual suggests. Instead, it seems like there's tanks there of some description.

If the unit doesn't have a spare, I surely don't need a jack and tools, and there's half a cubic foot freed up.

But boy, I want to be sure before leaving the kit behind.

Am I just blind?

Alan bc you are not blind ,there is no spare ,you are supposed to call AAA for flats. Live in BC so lots of area with no cell coverage so I bought a carrier for my hitch and a spare from my Ram dealer .

I installed this setup with a ladder, tire holder and storage container with a swing away hitch rack.
If interested, the ladder/tire rack is from www.aluminess.com
the box is from Amazon. (I painted it black )
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000MK2B4G/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and the swing away hitch is from Stowaway2.com

Total = $3,000.00 (yeah, crazy)

I also added tail lights. I needed them due to the rear sensors would go off when I put the van in reverse. By adding lights, it thinks there is a trailer attached and they don't sound an alarm. Just plugged into the 4 way trailer light plug under bumper.

I chose not to buy the additional hardware to mount a spare. I think the unit is light on power as is for the mountains around here and so am uneasy about adding weight.

My "solution" somewhat mirrors the Dodge answer .. I bought a BIG can of tire sealant and a pretty big portable compressor.

(I tested the compressor in the driveway .. next to my 220 volt compressor .. to make sure it would pump up to 80 PSI. Good thing I tested, the first one didn't come close to 80, specs on the box notwithstanding.)

I'm not happy about the loss of precious interior storage space. And I can't help but think that in 50+ years of driving, I've never had to fix a flat on the side of the road while I've also always had a spare on the trunk. But there's a .. fickleness .. to life that suggests that the day I don't have a spare is the day I will have an issue.

Oh, clever! Using the trailer plug, very clever!

You see, I think the RAM needs much better brake lights. My 25 year old 400 cc ATV has bigger and brighter brake lights than my Jayco. Only I've been worried about upsetting some bulb sensor somewhere and so haven't even tried to do anything about it.

But the trailer plug should be immune to such issues.

Well done!

Just an FYI, unless something has change, mine came with Ram Tire repair kit. Which is the sealant and air compressor that plugs into the 12v.

I watched the Dodge video about their repair kit. VERY slick. But a lot of money to buy one outright, as my unit didn't come with one.

Sadly, my unit didn't even come with a second key! The dealer is happy to sell me one though. They even have it in stock. Funny about that.

The dealer will sell me a RAM Tire Repair kit as well (assuming I was still talking to those buffoons). Wanna bet it's the one that came with the truck in the first place?

Yep, I think it is. You can take your VIN and setup a Mopar login. There you can actually get the Ram window sticker instead of the Jayco one. It's crazy to see that the spare tire delete takes off 35$ from the MSRP but it automatically includes the repair kit.
