Hello I need some advise. We have a 2023 Jayco J flight and noticed that we had some water coming in at the top right corner of the trailer. We brought it to a local repair facility (not camping world where we bought it because it is to far away) he noticed some major issues with the roof. I contacted the dealer and they wanted me to bring it back to them to inspect and it is 2.5 hours away. I sent them photos and they are telling me it is possibly out of the scope of warranty. This trailer is not even 2 years old. There were several spots on the roof that were found to be a concern to include the front cap...... Any advise would be helpful.

Have you or the dealer inspected it every six months and resealed as necessary? That is specifically spelled out in the owners manual. That is also why he stated it is probably not a warranty issue. Also....

I'm sorry to see this, but I am not the least bit surprised.

Our 2021 Jay Flight has a section of roof decking that is a little crunchy. It's just forward of the bath vent. I've inspected it from the bath fan box. It looks ok, but it doesn't feel right under foot. I keep an eye on it and step carefully around it. I cannot really determine what the deal is with it. It feels like it wants to crack. If it does, I will do my own rebuild of the roof. We've also had several areas of decking lift. I used some beefy screws that are holding up well so far.

Also FWIW, our slideout roof was Jayco-made out of interior paneling and very "scrapy" framing.
I removed it and rebuilt the slideout roof with 3/8 plywood and solid 2x2 framing. I replaced the OE membrane with a nice heavy gauge PVC membrane and took the opportunity to insulate with 1" closed cell foam board and spray foam insulation for all of the perimeter and crevices.

Unfortunately, these failures and derelictions are the reality with mass-produced RVs these days. If you cannot get help from Jayco, fix it yourself, have a dealer fix it, or get a mobile tech to do the work.

If I had to repair it myself i would find me a good carpenter and let him rip the top off and inspect the plywood decking and trusses and replace anything that's bad. would probably need a rv tech to replace roof top material. might need to lawyer up after the repair.
