29BH King Bed Regret?

Hey everyone,

New to the forum and new to Jayco. I just recently put a hold payment on a ‘23 29BH with the king bed option. I personally have looked at a handful of these but have not seen the unit I plan on picking up and haven’t had the chance to see the king bed setup in the front of any other units I’ve looked at.

My question is, do you think the king bed is worth the sacrifice of the storage cabinets? Has anyone got one and wished they just stuck with the queen setup? We sleep in a king at home so I figured for some of our longer 10-12 night stays it will be beneficial to have a similar sleeping space. I’m torn. Thanks for any feedback!

We don't have your rv, but when we bought our Mh, we opted for the queen. We do have a king in our S&B. For us, it was the right choice. There's more room to walk around and it's also way easier to make the bed. Ours is also a full sized queen instead of the rv short queen.
We like it enough that we are changing our king at home for a queen.
Good luck with your new adventures!

FWIW, Not the same model but our 5er came with a rock hard king. Couldn"t walk around it, had to side shuffle, not good for the occasional nitetime bathroom trip. Pita to make. I cut the plywood base down and bought a decent queen bed. No regrets!

"Has anyone got one and wished they had just stuck with the queen?" I'm sure someone has. And I'm pretty sure someone has gotten a queen and wished they'd gotten a king. Some need the storage, others don't. You are the only one who can decide which suits your family's needs.

Don't have your unit, but the same option and we went for the queen and very happy with it. Like others, we have a king in the s&b and will go back to queen at home.
Good luck with whatever you decide on!

We have a 284BHS with a Queen. I couldn't imagine a King size in the front room. The queen for us is almost aggravating to get around and make up. The King is 6" bigger on each side and to me that would be a deal breaker. But like cekkk said above. Its your decision on what's best for you.

Welcome to the forum!!

Like others we don’t have the same model but our travel trailer also has the front bedroom and we have a queen. I would love to have a king mattress but not in our camper. I couldn’t imagine moving around the bed with a bigger mattress than what we have.

If it has the factory mattress you’ll probably end up changing that anyway. You could trim the wood deck the mattress lays on down some and put a queen mattress in there so you would at least have more room to walk around the bed if necessary.
