3AC's or 2??

We have just ordered a 390 and I am not sure if I should get the 3 ac's or have the standard 2? Live in Minnesota and it can get real hot and humid but not sure how they work together on 50amps.

While I haven't owned such a large RV, I would go with the 3 A/C's as that gives you the options to run only 2 if desired and not worry with trying to add a 3rd one later if needed.

I am curious though if the 3 would be 15k btu's, or if they make a difference such as 2x15K vs 3x13.5K? In any case, I would also insist that they are all 15K unless they have some reason unknown to me why they can't do that. ~CA

Definitely get 3 ac's. We have a 32RLTS Pinnacle factory 2 ac units. Smaller than the unit you are purchasing. Live in Hudson WI. On hotter days, had a few incidents were the 2 units ran nonstop.

Upgraded to a 3rd ac unit last spring. What an improvement. Faster cool down, better control on hot days, and lower duty cycle. No problem running on 50 amp service.

The options keep adding up on a new unit. But, I would include a 3rd ac.

Get the 3rd AC unit. Cheaper to get it installed as a factory option than add it later. We had two and in the upper 80's and 90's the two would run all afternoon and most of the evening. We added a 3rd AC (heat pump) last fall and it works great. I look forward to the summer because the cool down will be a lot quicker.

Geez, living in Minnesota I would think you would need 3 heaters, not 3 air conditioners.

I know what you are saying about the heat out here. I have made probably a hundred business trips to Minnesota over my career and have "experienced" your weather. I remember one trip where I got into the rental car and the inside thermometer indicated -20 degrees. This California native almost died.

I have observed that when Minnesota hits 60 degrees everyone is dressed in shorts. Quite the difference to 60 degrees in CA.

Well after the responses we got here, and our dealer coming down on the price from $1100 to $800, we decided to get the 3rd AC installed at the factory. My wife and I noticed this weekend that the AC ran the whole afternoon with temps in the mid 80's so we're thinking it was a good decision and worth the extra cost.
