Shot in the dark but I'll ask anyway.
I have a honda 2000 inverter gunny that is a 2004 and runs great.
Question: Will if start my 13,500 a/c by itself and/or with one of the major soft start kits?
I know my pair will start it but I'm trying to cut weight.
SO, if you have experience, pleased share.

You will need a soft start. I just put one in my Dometic 13,500 btu unit, and I can run it on my Champion 2500 watt duel fuel inverter. I only run it on propane.
I installed a Micro Air EZ start. Very simple to install.
A bonus is that it’s easier on your AC when it first starts

Only way to know for sure is to try it out in the driveway.

Lots of people have run a 2000 with your AC with no issues. Without the need of a softstart. But not everyone.

I have two Honda eu2000 i year 2004.
Ok, my dual honda's started a/c no problem, both in eco mode and regular.
Tried just one, sorta struggled but ran the a/c, it even started on eco mode!!
I also have a Hughes Autoformer hard wired under the bathroom sink right where the main power comes in.
I'm happy, because I was looking at having to get the soft start kit.

Regarding the Micro Airstart, make sure you use shore power at home or at a campsite when you go through the programming process. If you go through the process using a generator it may not function properly on shore power. Ask me how I know.

Thanks. I’m thinking of getting a soft start and a different generator for next season. Not sure which way I will go on the generator. Even if a person has a generator big enough to run the whole rig, I think that the soft start would do nothing but help. Jay
