Has anybody used the KoolRV Solutions product to improve air conditioner cooling? They say this device can improving cooling.

I think you find a couple of positive reviews on this one. Many positive reviews on the RV Airflow. I did the DIY version of this and it helped cooling significantly.

I had just purchased the RVAirflow systems, had not yet installed, when I happened upon the KoolRV product.

Looks like they don't have a unit compatible with my Furrion (single line of duct) unit, for right now.

I just installed my RVAirflow yesterday. Day before I foil taped and sealed up all the AC vents.

Today it is hot and sunny. I am testing. Usually I couldn't even use the ducting because the airflow was poor and what did come through did not feel cold. I would use the system on 'dump' and made sure to close the door on my rear bath model, to help the efficiency of the living area cooling.

Today I started out 88 degrees in camper. Turned on A/C, left bathroom door open.

45 minutes later, it is 74 degrees. I closed the bathroom door and will check in a little while the improvement in temp. The bathroom is large, has a vent and a skylight. Overall, you can feel the heat more, in the bathroom.

Overall, the noise reduction is great. Of course 'dump' mode was the loudest, so we were dealing with that most of the time. Now, since we are using the ducts and the A/C is muffled due to the RVAirflow insert, it's much less noisy.

Temp outside is 90 degrees. Camper is full southern exposure, sun. With bathroom door closed, the temp dropped to 71. I never really tried to watch the temp before, using just the ductwork, as it was just too hot and it wasn't working efficiently enough. On 'dump' the thermostat would sometimes read 64 degrees, which I knew wasn't accurate, as the dump mode pushed the cold air right to the thermostat, while other areas of the camper were definitely feeling warmer.

I can say I'm satisfied because the noise level is definitely better and the ductwork is now functional, cooling the camper to comfortable temperatures.

There's one duct with a tiny rattling sound, like something being spun around due to the crazy amount of airflow velocity. I opened it up and tried to find what was making the noise, reaching way into the duct but couldn't find it. It's probably beyond my reach. I'll have to get used to the noise and/or hope it eventually wear out, whatever it is that's being effected by the velocity.

Yeah, it's insane just how poorly this was done at the factory. My baffle was just stuffed in, friction fit. And it didn't stay put for 10 minutes.

I'm grateful to the RV Airflow guys for figuring out the solution. I'm grateful to some people here for uploading the 3D models so I could go the DIY route.

A/C Gasket help with torque

Grateful for all the great information, teaching and brainstorming this site brings.

That said:

I got it all back together last night. Today I went to the Harbor Freight and picked up a basic twist/click torque wrench. I inserted the rods and made them hand tight enough where the metal frame is at the ceiling.

I can't see the little foam indicators under the new RV Airflow styo-block but I can see clearly the two at the rear of the unit.

I'm reading 20-30 fp of torque in multiple forums, or until those little foam piece come close to the ceiling.

I've been out there cranking down and this torque wrench is giving me ZERO clicks. I try to test it, setting it to 10fp, the lowest it'll go. Not even then do I get a click.

I take it back to HF, grab a replacement. Get home, set it and still, nothing. Is it possible I'm not 'there' yet?

I go outside and test the click on my lug. It clicks immediately. Okay, now I know what a click feels and sounds like...back inside. Im watching the little foam pieces and feeling the gasket. It is definitely 1/2 the size it started out to be. I do not want to distort it. The foam thingies are meeting the ceiling....juuuust about. Here's some photos. As far as this wrench, I do not trust it.

I can say for certain this A/C was NOT tightened down to this point, -to that I'm seeing right now. I know when they are new they should be re-tightened each year as the gasket can compress. I have a 2022, having been in the dealer's hands up until the past fall. I'd assume no one's touched it since the initial install.

I have been trying to tighten all the bolts equally. I'm going to guess the little foam pieces out of my view are approximately the same as the ones I can see.

I'v read where the is gasket new, it is approximately 1" thick and proper compression is approximately 1/2".

That looks to be where I am, so I'm going to stop.

No one seemed to answer your question but quickly high jacked the thread to a different manufacturer's modification. I'm wanting to improve the efficiency of my middle air conditioner unit and will probably use the KoolRV solution product in the plenum area and the AIRDIRECT vents by RV Airflow in lieu of the existing vents. Both are pretty inexpensive.
