Going through the "pre-flight" inspection, leaving for Florida early am.

2021 212qb, plugged in to 20 amp service. A/C is dead. Nothing. Do I need 30 amp service for it to even start up?

The entire unit was replaced by CW due to warranty issue.......we have not used the 212 since.

TIA for any help!

Note to self: revise pre flight checklist to include a/c test......

BTW, Happy New Year everyone!!!!!

I looked up some of the features of your trailer and it mentions the AC is a 13.5 unit. Unless you have some sort of Soft Start installed in the AC, the startup up current required for a 13.5 is way above 20 amps. Is the 20 breaker tripping when the AC tries to start?

I can start my 11k on 15amp without a softstart. Nothing else running of course. I think a 13.5 would start on 20. My old trailer had a 13.5 start on a 20amp breaker. ~ 20% of the time it would trip a breaker on start up.

If the breaker isn't tripped, it should try to start. If it needs more power, it will trip the breaker. Test and find out.. If its tripping the breaker, not something to do often as the constant brownout will degrade, eventually break electronics in the AC. Few times shouldn't hurt it. That's what a breaker is for..
