Anyone try these, or have an opinion on them? I see people using the stick on panels in ceiling fixtures, and thought maybe these would be a good substitute without requiring the sticky tape. Listed as warm white (no specific color temp) and 415 lm.... which is probably a little brighter than the stock 921 bulb (??)

Thoughts appreciated.

They look like this:

Owen- I bought a 10 pack of these LEDs and have used 8 of them so far. First I'll tell you that they are not as bright as the 921s...great for over bed reading. Two put in the bathroom fixture really reduced total light output so I will buy some brighter ones for there. Secondly, when first installed, two did not work at all. Now a third one has a row that blinks.
So, yes they are cheap but I only got 7 that work and I am replacing the two in the bath. I really got to use only 5 of the 10 so the individual price just doubled for me. Now I have a few spares if needed. Good luck and LEDs are definitely the way to go, if you can find good ones.

You will probably need a 48 smd panel to equal the light output of a 921. The light output seems to vary by manufacturer and the size of the diode (5050 being the largest I believe). I tried some 36 smds and they were not bright enough for the main lights but worked well above the bed. Those LEDs are also polatiry specific and (in my case) some of the wire leads were bent wrong and were not making contact in the socket.

I have these and seam to be fine....a little less bright then 921 but also a whiter light so it makes up for the coverage in my opinion.
