First, I want to say the new forum software is a significant improvement over what we had before.

Second, with that said, it does have one little quirk which irritates me. When highlighting something - such as to make it bold, italics, copy, or whatever - the highlighting shade is a very dim gray and I can barely see what has been highlighted.

Third, is there something in settings or in my profile I can change/set to make this highlighting darker or a different color?

Not that I have found. The software is the same as several other forums I'm on and no "delete" there either. I usually just write "OOPS". I don't want to bother the mods to do it.

I agree there should be though.

We're here to take care of any thread or post deleting anyone wishes. Click "Report" on the lower part of the post, tell us what you want deleted and it'll send us a notification.

How are you accessing the forum? I am using a win 11 Laptop and do not see the dim grey, mine is very blue.

This is what I see, the top row with the bold italics is very light gray

Windows 10, Mozilla

I'm seeing the same for both. pconroy, what you say is not super dim I say is super dim. At least, compared to other forums I use. I posted the same question on the Forum Update thread (see below). Haven't gotten a response yet.

When you put the cursor over it does the selected item get brighter? Mine does. I don't find it hard to see as it increases in value when a selection is made.

Note: I have requested advice from Admin on this question.

I tried to delete a duplicate post and couldn’t find a means to do that. Is there away to delete a post?
Delete is a permission that had to be granted to user groups you are assigned to. This forum has decided not to grant to most user groups.

I'm going to guess that the install picked an XF theme that resembled the old forum. I'd imagine it's possible to adjust the reply box. Maybe it's easy, maybe it requires some CSS prowess.

I'm OK with it but then I had cataract surgery not that long ago, so my whole world got brighter! :)

Not that my 80-year old eyes can detect.

My 82 yo eyes see it get the icon highlighted and brightened to a sky blue color. I don't see any way for me to change that.
