Hello everyone. I see a lot of people talking about running their AC off of one generator and had a question about that. I have a 50 amp Jayco 28BHS with a 15k AC unit. I have the micro air unit installed on the AC. Are you guys running off the generator with a 50amp to 15amp cable adapter plugged into the generator?

Mine is 30 amp plug from camper, into a 15 amp adapter, and into the generator. I am certain you could use adapters to go from 50 amp to 15 amp.

I’m running the same setup, but 50 amp to 30 amp adapter into the gen.

Thanks everyone. Yes it's a 50 amp. It's prewired for a 2nd AC unit.

I talked to Hutch Mountain who supplies the Micro Air easy start and he said that the AC should absolutely be able to run off of the generator and the 15 amp connector (50A to 15A dogbone). I think I was having issues because I had my fridge running on electrical power instead of propane when it was at home. He also stated it should run off a 15A outlet from your home as well with no issues. I was thinking about installing a 30A or 50A outlet so I could run the AC in my trailer in the summer when I was prepping for a trip. I already had a 15A outlet on the side of my house, so as long as I'm not running any other appliances on the trailer when plugged into the house I shouldn't have any problems.
