Considering a accumulator tank in my pup, the constant on off of the pump creates quite the racket.

Do they work? How long can you run water without the pump cycling?

Seems like it won't make much difference?

I installed one last year, it did cut down on the pump cycling a bid, but not a huge gain. Keep thinking about installing a second one, or maybe a bigger one. I think every trailer should have one just to help protect the plumbing from the water hammer effect and reduce the wear on the pump from all of the on-off cycles.

I put one in over the winter... works well.. biggest thing I noticed is that the leaking toilet line (that my dealer cannot find even with the video I made:shocked:) does not leak since I added this..

I added one this season and it does make a noticiable difference in the initial cycling of the pump. Also acts much like a shock absorber to the hammer as noted above. I had room for a 2.5 gal size for a well pump from Lowes and that was what I went with. Picked one up for $30.00 and $10.00 worth of plumbing parts.

An accumulator makes a huge difference! I installed a 2 gallon or so metal one under the bottome vanity shelf. It is a Kenmore brand I got off ebay for around $20. There are pictures of my install in this forum.

That picture is sized at 1024x768. Use a tool to resize it before posting and your troubles will go away. :)

I did resize it to the RV net standard of 640x480 with photobucket when I first posted those pics there and it was all good. But for some reason it is bigger now!

Well then something is fishy, Crabman. Are you sure you are pointing to the resized image?

Accumulator tanks work. I fabricated one out of PVC and can't believe the difference. It's tough to quantify the improvement I'd say the pump runs half as often, but for twice as long. Most noticably it is quieter. Instead of "whack whack whack" it says "thump thump thump." They should be standard equipment.
