Searched and couldn't find what is was looking for. Most places we camp they have the 30 Amp plug and two 20 Amp plugs. I am wanting to add a male adapter to the outside of my travel trailer and install a plug on the inside to be able to plug a space heater in off the pedestal and not run it through my campers electrical system. I could run a short extension cord from the pedestal to the Male adapter on the outside of the trailer that would give power to the new plug inside. Has anyone seen or done something similar? Not wanting to run through propane and we plan to camp through the winter in Georgia and it gets cold sometimes.

Been thinking of doing the same.

FIL, installed on of these plugs shown on the outside of his shed. Works nice for him.

I did that mod on a previous rig, not Jayco but it makes no difference. I terminated mine in a duplex outlet near my water heater and if it was not cold enough for a heater I would plug my water heater into the extra power outlet and have that extra current capacity for inside uses.

The main thing is to locate where you want the hole and carefully make sure there is not a stud or equipment inside. Some pedestals do not have that 20a outlet so there will be times when it can't be used.

I have done this mod on both of the campers that I have owned. On the Rockwood that I had, I put a plug on the side of the camper, similar to the picture in the first post. Then ran a short piece of romex to an outlet on the wall. On the 24RBS, because it uses a “mouse hole” for the 30 amp cord, I just cut a piece of 12 gauge extension cord about 5or6 feet long. The male end will hang out of the mouse hole about 6 inches. I ran the other end to an outlet with a night light built into it below the cabinets that are below the tv. This allows you to plug something in and sit at the dinette table (blow drier or space heater) or use it for something in the bathroom. Jay
