Air conditioner leak

Just noticed that after a quick rain I have water leaking in from the ac unit in my 2014 X17z. Any one had this problem? Can you advise me on a fix?

Check the seal and tighten the four bolts.

I just removed the filter and it is wet. Can't see any signs of leaks. Could it be from running the ac all night? I will check the bolts. How do I get to the 2 I can't see? Do I remove the shroud first? Thanks for the response

Check the roof caulk around the AC and any adjacent items in case you have a leak that traveled. Also check for the drain to the outside. If it is plugged the extra humidity of the rain may be accumulating on the inside.

If the water accumulating off the coils cannot get out to the roof then it could be sprayed by the fan into the inside.

After checking it out I did find that the plastic drip tray drain holes had debris and the tray is almost touching the roof so there is not much space for drainage. I am hoping this was the problem. We did run the ac a lot this week.

Take the shroud down where the filter is on the inside. drop the shroud and the should be 4 bolts. cinch the down about 3 turns. They will loosen up from road vibration over time.. Good Luck.

Don't tighten it down if the tray is that close. The clogged drain holes were apparently your problem.

Thanks for all the advice. Much appreciated. The bolts where all fine. The rubber roof is just about touching the drain holes on the tray. I will just have to watch this.

Keep an eye on it. That seal leaking will cause wood rot and with it being 1/8" luan wood it won't take long.
Mine rotted and had to be replaced. I will check the seal twice a year and replace it every other year since it is only a $17 part.

I had leak when running a/c tighten the four bolts stopped issue but eventually pulled unit and replace gasket keep a close eye on it it can damage your ceiling quickly I know from experience

Have had some heavy rains lately with no leak. I am believing that the water actually came from the tray not draining and when I drove home it spilled into the ac unit and on to the floor.
