Auto Leveling help

On my 2020 319MLOK, I had issues at first, and still do a bit if the ground is too out of level. I have the tablet inside, the app on my phone, and of course the controls in the basement. I have found that I have much better luck with the auto level by getting the unit somewhat level front to back with a small bullet level sitting on the edge of the basement in front of me and then using the auto level on the control in the basement. The biggest frustration I have, is the system seems to keep lifting the camper to achieve level and that sometimes lifts one side's tires off the ground a bit. I end up manually dropping all jacks the same amount to bring it down after auto level is completed. I don't understand why it can't bring the jacks up and down to achieve level.

I had a similar issue after the firmware update- found out my rear jack cables were reversed on the module in the front bay.

As already mentioned, I also had issues with letting out “too many holes” with the front jacks- it was nose-high. I stick to 9 holes and haven’t had an issue since

Not true, my husband & I just experienced our back jacks not going down with the auto leveling system. He puts the front jacks down to remove the camper from the truck & then presses to auto leveling & we get a red light. In order for him to level our camper he had to manually put down the back jacks. It is very frustrating, I'm thankful we just parked out camper at our lake lot & weren't traveling.

I have read most all of you guys replies and I must say I have this issue also. We have a 2022 Eagle HT 28.5 RSTS and have had it out about a half of dozen times and not once did my rear landing stabilizers ever deploy and our camper self level. We are going to NC this coming week and I will try everything you all have suggested. The book says to pull the pins and lower the legs 4-5" off the ground then lower your landing gear to raise your unit to disconnect leaving the nose up. After moving your truck and trailer blocked of course push auto level. The lights flash and it makes a few sounds but not once have I seen my rear stabilizers deploy. I will try the phone app and see if this works. I am very frustrated, do you have to raise the nose higher after disconnected? But then will the hitch height button work to put it back?

Auto Level Response

Good morning Mr. Wigger

The Key ingredient to fixing the auto leveling operation is to update the firmware on your RV. To do this you have to update the CommandPro or JaycoCammand Travel APP on your phone. Simply go to your APP store and down load the new CommandPro App. Once the Phone is updated with the correct software APP, and as soon as you connect to the RV the Auto Leveling system with your phone the new information will down load and the firmware will update. If none of this works try going into the RV after you have disconnected and operate one of the functions on the wall controller. Like Bump a Slide. Then go back outside and try to operate the auto leveling system. CAUTION: Make sure you put your step back up or you will bend something and everyone exits the RV. This is the way the system was originally designed. :scratchhead:

The Hitch Height is an issue that I am still working out. I don't have a whole lot of need for this. I only use the Hitch Height to raise the rear jacks simultaneously. The operations manual does not give a clue to how this works. Here is what I have learned and have not yet tested. Once you have your RV hooked up and you are ready to disconnect. Leave your RV Trailer Electric plug connected until you have raised RV to reach the correct height between the fifth wheel hitch and pin to disconnect the RV. It is at this point when you disconnect the electrical trailer plug from the truck, the hitch height will set itself. Hope this helps!

Auto Leveling reply

Sorry but I just noticed they you had a 2022, 28.5 My Jayco is a 2021 so all that I have said may not apply. But try anyway. If the information I have explained does not work send a letter or email to the three companies that control this system. JayCommand, Lippert, Jayco. They will get back to you.

Have a 2021 28.5RSTS and I do exactly as original poster described and get the exact results. Always use the app on my phone for auto-leveling. Been observing on here to learn if Lippert or Jayco come up with something but not holding my breath.

auto level system

Actually incampnut, It isn't a Jayco or Lippert issue. It is a BMPro issue. They do the software development for the RV and Jayco. BMPro had to get permission from Jayco and change the contract to fix this issue. Here is the exact note I got from BMPro.

Hello Warren,

I was wondering if the coach was equipped with the Jayco BMPro touch screen panel?

If so delete and reinstall the BM Pro Jay Command app and then retry.
?
make sure that you have the most up to date version of the BM Pro app, when the phone app updates if there is an available update it will push to the BM Pro system in the unit as well
?
From there we would need to know what the BM Pro system is stating when it is auto leveling and what is states when it is done attempting.

Ok first and foremost I want to thank you all for your imput. I did update my firmware and was able to use self leveling for the first time! Not with my 3.0 lippert controller but with my phone I was so happy to actually see for the first time my rear stabilizers deploy and level my trailer. We arrived here at Brunswick Beach RV Resort in NC on Monday 6/13/22 and my auto levelers worked. Thank you all once again this is a great community for sharing information and helping each other out. BTW this is a very nice place to stay about 10 minutes from Sunset Beach.

We were lucky to have a simple fix for our auto-leveling system, we just rebooted the panel inside our camper has been working ever since we did that, knock on wood!

How did you reboot the panel Camping 4 Life? The only way my auto level works is through my phone app and sometimes you don't have wifi. The panel on your coach?

I am not sure what the panel Camping for Life is. My phone connects to my RV via Bluetooth. I downloaded the up-to-date app to my phone and when the phone connected to the controller via blue tooth in the RV it was also updated. Something to try if you have a 2021 Jayco. And the auto level is not working from the panel in the utility compartment. Drop the stairs and go into the RV and bump a slide or two and then retract them fully. You don't have to open them up all the way. just a little. Now go back outside with no one inside. <MAKE SURE YOU RAISE YOUR STEPS> Now try the auto level function from the RV controls. This is the function standard that Jayco gave BMP to operate the auto level system. While the customer is beating himself in the head trying to operate the auto level system the way that Jayco's book describes BMP knowing there's a problem won't say anything until they get Jayco's permission to change the software. The software has been changes and there shouldn't be any problem now. Your issue may or may not be the same as this issue. So, I provide this as information not necessary a fix for you RV.
Happy Camping

After a last winter in storage with the battery out, and a firmware update, everything started working vorrectly on its own. Thatnks for the suggestions!
