I removed the awning & attached led light on my 2020 285RSTS. In the panel there is a flip switch for the light & a rocker switch for the awning so to be safe I cut power to the rv before I snipped the awning wire & I disconnected the two prong plug that the light was connected to. After capping the awning wires I turned the power back on.

After that I installed a 12v led light strip onto the sidewall & wired a matching two prong plug onto the end then connected it to the two prong plug that the previous led awning light was connected to. The led light strip immediately lit up….problem is, the awning light switch in the panel is OFF. Now that switch doesn’t control the newly hung led light strip thats connected to the same two prong plug as the old led light.

Anyone have ideas or see this issue before?

Wow, good idea! I will play with the remote control when I get back to my fish camp next week.

Shade…..it worked!! I was able to reset the light thru the Jayco remote & now the switch works. Thank you!!

Great! I had a guy parked next to me that was replacing his awning lights and his smart app wouldnt work anymore after replacing but the switch would. He was taking his to the dealer to be checked. So thought the smart system could of been involved. But glad you got it fixed.

My awning lights won’t turn off. The main switch is off and the remote does nothing in the light mode. Any suggestions?
