I have a 377 RLBH Jayco my main awning does not come out. I can hear it click when I push retract but nothing when I push extend any help.

On the awning arm closest to the front of the camper:
1. Bring the picnic table over so you can stand on it
2. Remove the rubber stopper at the top corner (above the motor)
3. Insert a #10 socket onto a nut in there that's attached to a drill and 'drill baby drill'
It will takes several minutes... but the awning will move where you need.

It's possible that once you move it a little bit this way, becomes unstuck, it may respond to the controls.

My fingers are crossed for you.

Are you sure it’s not wound up backward? The awning should come off the RV and over the top of the roll. It’s easy to get in backward.

Jayco 377rlbh so my awning will retract but not extend, I manually let it out a foot to maybe get to work in case it was stuck, but it will only retract back to camper and not extend out?

I’m pretty sure this is the issue. Please try this. Push and hold the retract button. If it goes out, someone pushed and held the extend button until it went all the way out and came back. So, hold the retract button until it goes all the way out and comes all the way back in.
Again, look at the awning. Is it wrapped over the roller tube next to the RV, or under the tube. I’m betting under.

It is over.

It is over the tube, I managed to get out a bit but only returning back to camper, will not extend, is there fuses for extend or retract?

No fuses. Extend and retract work by reversing the polarity of the DC positive and negative to negative and positive. Do you maybe have a broken wire where it comes out of the RV or along its path in the arms to the motor? That’s the only thing left I can think of.

Makes no sense that it will only operate in one direction unless the node is bad and won’t reverse the polarity. Does anyone know of these motors have torque sensors?

Do a search for awning-1 bmpro issues read through that post this is a common problem with the relay in the bmpro node box.

If this ends up being a BMPRO issue, I think I’m going to stop answering any questions due to a lack of information. I will just keep asking questions until the whole story comes out. That’s what I had to do with project managers when I was working. They would ask one question, 15 questions later, I finally got to an answerable question.

You mentioned the switch. I would check the back of it and make sure a connection hasn't fallen off. You could also temporarily reverse the wires and see if the switch itself is defective.

Here's what to try next... locate your JayCommand Node in your basement. Notice in the upper left corner (see image) there are two wires for Awning#1 and two for Awning#2. The wires are quick connect... you can pull on the orange tab and the wire comes out.
Simply switch the two wires for #1 with #2 and see if the awning works as needed. If so, you can be assured the problem is the Node... good to know what caused the problem but sad to know it's around $900 for a Node... along with installation labor.
If this text works, I have the same issue as you. I've seen a few others on this forum have the same problem too. Some replaced the node, one person hard wired the awning and put a rocker switch on the wall (bypassing the node intirely). I installed a double-throw, double-pole switch to the four wires and I flip the switch one way or the other, same as the troubleshooting trick I described above.
I don't have a problem with $900+ for another node as long as I know it's a newer version of the node (notice in the photo, mine is 18A). Until I replace the node, the switch works.
So, give the wire switch a test and let us know what you find out.

Oh, take a photo of the wires attached before you do anything, this way you can refer to your photo to ensure the wires are back like they were before you changed them.

I have the 357 MDOK and my main awning does the same thing. It was doing this last year and I had the dealer check it out, wound up having to replace the node (luckily under warranty). Got camper out about a week ago and it's back doing the same thing again this year.

As mentioned above on the wires to the node. tag (tape and mark) the wires before removing from node. Grab a toggle switch (single pole, double throw). You will need to find your power wire as the two node wires are the in/out wires. See if the toggle switch works. If it does, then the electronic relay on the node is cooked. The toggle switch can be installed anywhere in the coach, but near the BmPro panel would be optimum. The nodes run about $800 or more and you can shop them around the country especially in no sales tax States. One relay may not be worth the expense of a new node.
I would also inspect/check any wires that may rubbing/chafing going to/from the awning motors and loose connections (doesn't take much).

JayCommand Node Updated for common relay errors

I sent a letter to teamBMPRO about this and here is their reply

Hi,
You are correct, we have identified that the relay we sourced was failing and we have since upgraded/updated the JAYCOMMAND node to improve that component.

Any new Node you receive should have the updated hardware.

So, did BmPro offer to help with the replacement? or just said, yep it's broken from a defective part and It's your problem?

I wouldn't ask them for it. Your Jayco dealer is who you would ask for parts and warranty stuff. I don't expect anything from TeamBMPro.

I asked, in my reply, if they would provide a revision number that has these new relay... my node is verson 18A. You see, my concern is that I don't want to pay for a new Node unless I know that version has the upgrade. He said; "...we have since upgraded/updated the JAYCOMMAND node to improve that component."

I would like to know how to identify, with some certainty, that what I purchase is the new version. I just sent off the question so I expect a reply within a day or two. I'll post that info when it arrives.
