The Voyager establishes a digital (as opposed to an analog) connection which allows the display to lock on the camera. While it is certainly not as good as a wired connection, it is very good and quite acceptable for most applications. As I mentioned in an earlier post, Jayco has just recently made the Voyager a factory installed option on the Eagle 5th wheel line. The list price of this option is $675.

Not the best photo, but here is a picture of my Kenwood DVD player that
I installed in my 2015 Redhawk 26XD mainly so I could have a good rear
view as I drive down the road. I have a toggle switch in the hole that
formerly had the Ipod jack, and when I turn this switch on, the camera
powers up and takes over the screen. I bought a camera that does not
have the grid pattern on it. The photo was taken from my driveway.

Voyager wireless camera report

Took delivery of a 2015 Eagle 291 RSTS (5W) last week. We ordered it with the factory installed Voyager wireless camera. The camera is located high on the rear of the unit and the monitor is on the dash of our F250, plugged in to a 12V outlet. No interference, no dropped image, clear and very usable. Overall I am quite satisfied.

As a secondary benefit, there is a 12V outlet above one of the night stands in the bedroom. The portable monitor for the Voyager can be moved to the bedroom to use as a security camera at night.

Chuck what model Kenwood is your unit? And second question, how do you like it so far? We have a "refuse to name" unit in our Greyhawk that I want to replace. I like the fact the kenwood comes with Garmin navigation. We have a couple garmin nav. units and think it would be more user friendly if we had all the same units regardless of what vehicle we're in?

I installed a voyager wireless camera and monitor on my current trailer and could not be happier. I have been using it for 10 months now and have never lost the signal and have never seen baby cameras in the monitor. It was simple to install and as you can see from the picture I removed the center marker light so when I sell the trailer I can remove the camera, mount the light back and use it on my next trailer. The voyager systems pairs the camera to the monitor. My setup is 50 feet from the back of the trailer to the monitor and I always have a strong signal. The built in microphone allows my DW to guide me into sites without yelling or using a walkie-talkie. The system can be somewhat expensive but it allows me portability.

How did you seal the camera into the marker lights place? Is it legal to remove one of the marker lights? I really like this idea.
