Battery change

I have a 2019 jayco precept 29V Motorhome.
The small "hood" to open for the battery makes it difficult to change engine battery. Anybody have suggestions for an old man to replace the battery? Thanks!

After just hoisting my heavy azz house batteries off a very accessible pull out tray, I wouldn't want to attempt to lift one out of the engine compartment. I did look at this just the other day and I was thinking the best way to do it would be from the bottom. Seems wide open with enough room.

Thanks for the reply. I was actually wondering if that would work. The battery looks like it might be too big to fit coming out of the narrow hood. I was also afraid of the weight. I am over 80 and weaker so this is not what I'm looking forward to. Both house batteries are dead too but slide out on a tray so I might be able to get them, as long as they're not real heavy.
Thanks again!

I’m 70. What I did was crawl under our 2018 Alante 29S, and stood up between the front and the engine. With new battery setting on the ground, I took out the old, set it down, and lifted the new one in place and attached the cables and the tie down.

Thanks for the reply. I will try that as taking it down instead of lifting seems to be best way for a heavy battery with little space in front. Thanks for your help.

You're right! Might have to get my son involved! I like to prove to myself that I am not so old and can still do things I really shouldn't try. LOL
Thanks again!

I'm with Kevin, get underneath and stand up between the radiator and the front cap. Plenty of room. I do this when changing the oil and will use the same technique at battery change time.

If your driveway is blacktop, or concrete and you have a floor jack You could utilize the jack to make the lift shorter.

Thanks for your reply but my son helped me replace all batteries. He was able to pull it out front hood with no problem.
