Battery Drain

This is keeps happening no matter how hard we look and try to make sure everything is turned completly off. Our batteries keep getting drained. Is their something that stays on that we don't know about? Are we missing something? This is in a 2014 Jayco Seneca. As far as we know Radio and everything is OFF.

Do you trip the battery disconnect switch? The CO2 does and will trickle drain the battery bank along with other things if you accidentally miss something. Since we've been tripping the disconnect switch we've had no battery drain problems.

I am not very familiar with your Seneca, but there are a number of phantom items that drain the batteries. Like stated the CO detector pulls a little power, gas detector, built in entertainment center, even when turned off.

You can go about a week or two before the phantom will cause power issues. flipping the disconnect switch will eliminate all phantom power drains. But it also eliminates being able to walk in and turn on the 12V lights too.

For this reason, I typically connect to shore power with a 15 amp extension cord from the garage between trips. Works well if you park at home, but no so much if you leave it at a storage lot.

We can connected to 50amp power inside our garage, but will we still need to flip that battery connection too?

If u connect to 50amp service u will not need to flip the disconnect switch.

i agree switch off disconnect switch, the easiest way is to disconnect negative battery clamp for long storage, why waste the power plugged in, check with your dealer, also once in a while trickle charge your truck batteries they will also go flat, do not disconnect truck batteries or everything will need to be reset
