Battery Issue (I think)

Hi All. New to this forum so thanks for having me. I'm new to campers so have a lot to learn.

I just purchased a 2015 Jayco X213 from a private seller. When I got home, I noticed some issues with the electric. For starters, the bedroom slide only works when I have the shoreline connected to the house. I cannot use the 7-pin from the truck to power it enough to push it out all the way.

Also, the power jack on front works only sometimes when I have it plugged to the truck (again only consistently when the shoreline is connected). I am thinking the battery does not hold much of a charge and that is why I can sometimes power the power jack with my truck but not always but wanted to get your thoughts.

It seems weird that even when I have the camper hooked up to the truck I have limited electric power.

I would take the battery to an auto parts shop and have it load tested. Sounds like it may need replacing.

Welcome to the Forum from Western New York State!

Do you know if the battery has been replaced since 2015?

There will be a date code on it. Either on the top or on one of the sides. This chart of codes will identify how old it is. Either way, like Norty said, take it to any auto parts store, and they'll gladly test it for you. They would prefer it be first charged as much as you can get it to be, so the load test will be more accurate as to its condition.
