If I leave shore power hooded up for a week or so, will it over charge the batteries, ( I have two 6 v ) or will the charging sysetm just maintain the bateries at the proper charge level? Thanks Stan

What you have to look for is the model number of your converter/charger. If this converter is a single mode type charger and only puts out 13.6VDC all the time then it may over charge your batteries. What you want is a smart mode converter/charger that will cycle thru the multi charge modes which will not boil out your battery fluids.

You can also just take a look at your battery fluids on a scheduled basis maybe every one or two weeks and see if you are losing fluids. If it is then you can add distilled water to keep the levels just covering the cores.

You can post your converter/charger model number and we can tell you what type of converter/charger unit you have on-board your trailer.
