What's the best location to mount a TV bracket in the bedroom of a new Jayco 285RLSW? Option 2 is more centered, but the wall doesn't seem as solid as option 1. Just wondering if any of you went with option 2 and it worked out?

Hmmmm...no sticker saying "mount TV here"??

That's what mine had. Supposed to be a section of plywood in there so you have something to screw in to. I'd ask my dealer or Jayco to confirm.

I use a stud finder. Not many in the wall there, but at least two of the four locations will be supportive...

I'd also add these "TV Bracket Location" stickers are sometimes not accurately positioned. Suggest inserting some very small pins/nails through the wall paneling to verify the exact position of the stud before committing to a particular location with much larger screw holes.

Should you use option 1, you might be able to compensate by using a swing mount bracket.

I recommend you ask Jayco for the wall prints before you drill any holes. Real easy, bottom of the Jayco website has contact us link and then customer service. I requested and received prints in an email within a couple of days. Takes all the guess work out; use the prints to outline the TV mounting plywood with some blue tape, verify with a stud finder and drill with confidence. If you decide to mount outside of the plywood mounting points the prints can verify what the stud finder is indicating as far as stud locations.

our 2106 SLX212QBW had tags for 2 "mount here". The rear one was correct. The one by the bed didn't have the dead block to mount into. The CLOWN at the CW in Macon, GA who mounted it either didn't know how to mount it or didn't care. Used small screws and lots of black mastic. Luckily we were in the trailer when it started to fall off.

CW Valdosta, GA who has been great service contacted Jayco and was approved to remove the wall panel, place in a dead block and mount the TV correctly.

Be really careful where you mount it. You don't want to penetrate the wall behind where you are mounting.

How a "tech' doesn't mount a TV mounting bracket. Luckily we were in the trailer when it started to come down. No damage and being corrected by Jayco at another shop.

sorry they are sideways.

Wow sounds like a bang up job. I'm follow Riceman's advice and see if i can get the blueprints emailed to me from Jayco. CW of Bakersfield has yet to get ahold of me. Thanks for heads up though.

Simply bump on the wall with your fist and you can easily tell where there is solid plywood or a hollow wall. A third grader could do it...

Towel hooks

Haha .....he might not be able to reach. Actually, i did do that to install these towel hooks. But because the TV is heavier, i didn't want to take a chance. I'm not getting the same feedback for the studs knocking on the wall there.
