Best Tonneau Cover

I would appreciate input on well-made tonneau covers that do not leak or leak very little. We have a Fold-A-Cover aluminum cover that leaks like a sieve no matter what I do to tweak it. It is also falling apart after 3 years. Is there a cover out there that does extremely well with leaking? We have a long bed with a spray-in bed liner. I know tonneau covers leak, but there has to be something better than ours.

I have a UnderCover Flex hard cover that I've been very happy with. I haven't seen any obvious leaks and never had any cargo showing signs of moisture exposure after a good storm or TV washing.

I do protect all the rubber seals/joints and panel surfaces with Aerospace 303, which IMO adds to longevity. My prior 2500HD's soft cover lasted 14 years with frequent "303" applications.

I have and am extremely happy with the "BakFlip" and had it for 5 years now and only get leaks when I wash my truck and blow the water under the seal. Very highly recommend and has awesome security and I can walk on it!!!! (don't do it often). Has 4 folds so not too much weight per fold and you can secure it up to have full access to the bed.

Check out the Truxedo LoPro QT. A vinyl cover I've been using for 3 years now and no problems. Will leak a little but not much to worry about. Good warranty too. Been more than pleased with this cover.

I have a pretty inexpensive Lund soft tonneau. I open it daily for work, plow snow in the winter with it, wash every few days and take it through car washes a lot and it’s never leaked a single drop.

I have a Bak Revolver X2 on my Sierra and would buy it 10 times again given the options available.

Mine is an Extang Trifecta. It's on it's second truck, about five years total and it looks like new; has never leaked a drop.

The only problem I've had is when the bed is loaded up full for a camping trip it can be a bit difficult to get at the spring clip.

I'm on my second pickup with a Truxedo Truxport soft tonneau. I like the look of the soft covers, and they roll easily out of the way if I'm hauling something larger. There's a little leakage around the edges, but IMHO not enough to cause any problems. They take the snow load well, too.

My last truck was a '04 Silverado that I bought in '09, and it came with a Truxport cover; I don't know how old it was before that. I traded the truck in in '16 with the same cover, and even after 7+ years, the cover still looked and worked like new. So when I was looking for a tonneau for my current truck, I looked no further than Truxedo.

I have had the Extang Trifecta for 6 years. Sitting outside every day, including the blazing Arizona sun. Never has leaked still works like the day I installed it and it''s easy to remove if I need to. I would buy it again.

I'm also figuring out what tonneau to put on my new truck.

I've had RollNLock (put too much dirt in the tank and when covered in ice it wouldn't roll up), Trifecta (good for a couple of yrs and then the corners started to roll up and shrink), BackFlip Fibremax (leaked at every panel joint and corners and the rails didn't carry the water away like they should).

I'm considering an MX4 for the load security it provides. Fabric covers are out-of-sight-out-of-mind security, a quick cut with a knife and your stuff is gone.

Asking about which tonneau is like asking which truck except there are 100 answers instead of 3. :)

I bought this one Soft Covers - Yukon Trail Inc. from Costco online several years ago. It's a soft cover and I've had it on my '14 2500 and now my '16 3500. I have no water leakage in the bed that I've found. I mainly purchased this model because of Costco's return policy.

One of my requirements in a tonneau cover was that it be secure. Another was that it not block rear vision when open while traveling. Soft ones won't cut it for me. I have an Extang Solid Fold. It's about 4 years old now. It locks and is very secure, easily removable if I need full bed access, and has only a small leak when I take it through a high pressure car wash. They have a new model now called "2.0". When I replace this truck I won't hesitate to buy one again.

Take a look at the Access covers. I just installed the Lorado model on my 2017 Silverado. it fits exceptionally well and it's dry if installed correctly.

Bought our truck in 09 and it had a soft Extang lift style bed cover that never leaked. We purchased an HT FW which necessities a change in our bed cover. We went with the Extang Trifecta and it has worked well for us. It does not leak and when folded, it keeps our firewood dry. I would highly recommend it

I have the Truxedo TruXport and very happy. Can’t beat the warranty and price.

Another happy Truxedo customer here. I'm on my 2nd one courtesy of a new truck but 6 total years no issues between the two. It will leak a bit at the front corners depending on the angle I'm parked at.
