I've had mine for about 4 years now and its worked pretty well until last season. It just seemed like it was taking longer and longer to heat up and cook food. I did a little searching around and found a video on YouTube on how to close down the air gates on the burners. Fail. While I had it apart I took out the orifice in both regulators and one had a little buildup. I got that cleaned out and cleaned the other just in case. Still no change. As the year wore on it kept getting worse and I kinda forgot about it over the winter. I used it a couple times this year and it was really bad. Very low blue flame. I put the 1# bottle on it thinking maybe its something with the regulator or line on the trailer. Nope. Now I'm mad. I got home and tore into with full intentions of molesting the crap out of to the point of total destruction. On a side note, I have a 2 burner 27" and that thing COOKS! So I'm comparing this 22" to my 27". Dont know if its a fair comparison or not, but...
As I'm taking it apart, I pulled the burners out and all looked good there. I take out the manifold pipe that the gas line connects to and feeds the regulators. I bet I got a solid tablespoon of oil out of it. The regulators were all soaked in it as well. I cleaned all that nastiness out of everything and since I had the orifice's out .... yup, you guessed it. Im gonna bore them things out. They had a 1.0 stamped on the flat outer surface. I grabbed the drill index and the smallest bit I had was a 1/16". Guess thats what they are getting opened to now. I drilled the center holes out and it looks like they are about half again bigger than the original holes. I get everything put together and lit it off with a 1# bottle attached.
I wish I had a pic of what the flame looked like before but the blue flame was barely as tall and my finger is thick on the high setting. Now I got myself a flame thrower on high! The flame on this is comparable to my 27" now. Much taller blue flame with a nice yellow top on it. I also tested it off the LP port on the trailer and got the same flame results as the 1# bottle. Much better now!

Edit;
I did find pics of my 22" flame on high and my 27" on high.
Not too hard to figure out which one is which.

My weber grill I take camping, I've had low flame issues. Found the issue was the regulator. I've gone through multiple regulators over the years.

I’ve had our 22” do the low blue flame. It was because I opened the valve too fast on the bottle. Obviously that was not your issue. But my question is, can you go low now or is it way hotter on low?

My gas grill had a regulator on it there is also a regulator on the LP tanks on my trailer. Other grills which I have used have a regulator on the grill but not on the tank. I removed the regulator on the grill and it works great. I can adjust the flame from low to HIGH with the knobs on the grill. As a side note I keep the grill 20’ away from the trailer using two 10’ quick connect rubber gas lines. I’ve been using this grill for 5 years and have had no problems.
