Broken brake wire

Hi a couple wires broke from the connector. How can I fix this? Can I cut the connector off? And which wires connect to which? The two black wires appear to be ground as they are connected to the same nut on the back of the wheel hub.

Did you look to see how the other wheel brake wires are connected.

From what I have seen on my trailers they usually run the wire down one side and basically daisy chain to other side. Being DC 12 volt they depend on voltage and not polarity is kind of irrelevent. I had to repair one at a campground that showed no trailer connected on truck.

Did you look to see how the other wheel brake wires are connected.

On the other wheels all the wires run into the same connector.

cut them off clean.. the black goes to the black the white goes to the red/white.. get some shrink tubing.. solder the black to the black and the white to the red/white. cover with shrink tubing heat then wrap with black tape.. you can also do the waterproof butt joint shrink connectors where you just squeeze the wire inside a metal connector then heat shrink the plastic ...

More pictures needed. Which wires come out of the chassis? Which wires go into the brake drum? Which wires are connected to grounding points?

Check YouTube for lots of videos on splicing wires and/or using those soldering butt connectors.

I had tons of corrosion underneath the wire insulation on my brake wires because Jayco used such shoddy connectors. Before crimping or soldering, make sure the individual stranded wires are nicely cleaned with some steel wool or other fine abrasive.
