buying tires online

For those of you that have bought tires online, do you take your RV to the tire dealer and have them dismount the wheels or do you dismount the wheels and take them to the dealer individually?

for me, it is easier to take them down 2 at a time. if you are in a big hurry then it would be best to take your rig down to the dealer but at my dealer i could pull into the lot but would be hard getting back out of the lot, only one entrance and it is a very narrow lot. i put the spare on one axle and block up the other axle while the tires are getting done.

I recently purchased 4 Maxixis tires from Amazon. I pulled each tire, one at a time, dropped them off at a local tire shop and had each mounted and balanced. While the shop was mounting and balancing, I returned home and serviced the wheel bearings and adjusted the brakes. It took the better part of a day, but saved me a boat load of dough.

I do the same as above...remove them and take them to the tire shop and have them do them as they can. I saved money buy buying online and doing my own work.

I cheated by upgrading a size to get more load capacity and switch over to Goodyear Endurance at the same time.

I bought them mounted on new rims. Then I just took them off one at a time.

Sold the 2 year old ones on the rim to a guy for his old (local use only) boat trailer which he said had 12 year old tires.

Helped cut the cost!

Thanks everyone for your replies. I am planning to get the Goodyear endurance tires. I don't believe I can upgrade a load range, as I can not find the endurance in anything higher than load range E. I have a triple axle which makes changing tires a little more difficult, since I can't just run a wheel up on a board to bring the other wheel off the ground. I still have to do some jacking. Tire dealer is just 6 mi down the road so, not a big deal running back and forth. Biggest effort is dismounting and mounting wheels on the RV.

I did what Roger here did... Bought a set of tires already mounted on rims... These were bigger tires for my OFF-ROAD Trailer...

Was kinda neat to see the UPS brown truck drive up and unload a set of tires haha... The two new tires and rims were already balanced...

I do the same and I use Costco and this is where I bought my tires and no state or federal tax.
