2003 Jayce gray hawk motorhome keeps blowing the 15 amp AC in the cab
Not the AC inside moterhome coach
Does anyone know what might be causing the can fuse to keep blowing, it’s happened twice
Thank you

Fuses blow for two reasons. First is overload. If it only blows after running it for some period of time consistently, then likely overload. If it is random or constantly as soon as you turn on, then short circuit. You have a bad spot in the wire that is shorting to ground.
So, is the AC unit stop working because not cold, and have verified clutch is not engaging on compressor, or the fan is the affected unit?

Many, many years ago we had a Honda Accord that would blow its fuse intermittently. Finally did something that is NEVER recommended - I put a larger fuse in. When you do something like this odds are something will rear its ugly head.

Yep, the air conditioner clutch melted. Had to replace the entire AC compressor. In any case, the fuse is probably protecting the compressor's clutch. Don't know if the clutch is replaceable by itself or if something in the compressor could put extra load on the clutch. Something you may want to look into.

Jim, I did the same thing once. 15a thermal kept tripping, but would only draw 9 when testing. Bypassed the thermal, figured I would replace what smoked. Week later I replaced the weak thermal.
