I did a search on this website for AC amp draw with negative results. Looking to camp at a lake side site this weekend but it only has 20 amp power will this run a single 15k ac unit if I don't use microwave and run water heater on propane??? any help/advice/recommendations appreciated. If this will not work I can get a 30 amp non lake site.

Yes but only the A/C and only if it is a 20 amp service.I have the same A/C(and truck and trailer) and have a progressive industries ems. With the A/C on high and the power converter charging the battery's it pulls 26 amps!!! A/C on high and no other loads it's around 18 amp draw. Just make sure all the breakers are off except Main and A/C and you should be fine.

X2 Good answer!!!!

From my experience I would not attempt it. For a weekend in summer you will be maximizing out the draw on power facilities and maybe even doing some damage to the AC.
I was camped this last weekend at a lake and noted that my rig was drawing 18-21a when the ac was running. That's to close for me.

What ever you decide, please post the results and it will help others.

Yes, I do this every time I am at the inlaws house. No problem with the 20 amp running my 15k AC

I can run my 15k a/c on my 20 amp outlet at home. I have an EMS installed which will keep an eye on it. Turn the fan on before letting the compressor come on to help with the initial start load.

I agree, the key here is to shut down the converter and run DC appliances from the battery, and not allow the converter to draw 8-10 amps of Limited AC current while air conditioning is running.

Then when it cools down at night, shut off the air conditioning, and re-engage the converter to recharge the battery array

thanks all for the quick responses! when I went to finalize reservations I was told the first person I talked to was wrong all lake sites were reserved so I have non lake site which is 30 amp. However the information provided is valuable and will no doubt be useful for future trips! All the help and responses is greatly appreciated. The ems was installed prior to taking delivery cant have to much extra insurance.

thanks, Jared

WrenZ71, how's your set up working for you, so far so good for me. The only issue I have had was a small leak under the sink but tightening the connection was easy and fixed the problem. It was barely leaking only reason I noticed was because after the 2nd trip I noticed the box for the coffee make had a very small water mark on it, might be worth checking on I have since heard that connection is commonly loose. I even checked the floor for water in all areas and did not notice anything that's how small the leak was. After tightening I put paper towels down to see if they collected any water and they did not.

Haha your lucky .Mine has been back and forth to the dealer multiple times.Biggest thing resulted in the entire entry door, screen and Door frame replaced.Miss wired A/C,black water flusher connection under the sink finger tight flooded the trailer. Damaged decal, light under the steps not working. No caulking on the kitchen sink(fixed my self) All the screws that hold the fancy window trim fell out(fixed myself different screws).Last trip out the whole back of the dinette(we're the propane alarm is) fell off completely.I spent last weekend re-engineering the whole thing. It's fixed and rock solid.Oh and I think my front cap has some delamination.

My trailers name is Bertha the bunk house and she is a big fat *****.
