Cannot get good connection on LED

Like so many others, I am trying to replace my camper's lights with LEDs.

For my overhead, and possibly my bunk end lights, I picked up these:



The hair thin wires have to be in just the right position to make contact... but even the slightest bump is enough to knock them loose. Any suggestions?

I've had that problem too. For me sometimes twisting the wires leading into the white connector will help. Sometimes I have to pull them out ant tinker with it till it works. Once I get 'em to light I usually don't have any continuing problems, usually. There have been a couple of problem ones tho. All total I've put in 14 or so of that type and most were no problem.
If you have one that refuses to cooperate maybe a SMALL dot of superglue on the end of the connector or where the wires go in the adapter to hold the wire in place (make sure it's oriented the way you want before the drop of glue goes on).

I have the same adapters. All you can do is keep fiddling with them. Once they're in they seem to stay there. Just make sure they are pushed in tightly.

I replaced our outside light with a Starlights Brilliant Light 300 LMS and it has stiff wires that allow you to locate the panel where you want it. We've had no problems losing contacts.

I was amazed at how bright this panel is compared to the original incandescent bulb that came in it. We can actually illuminate a 20' area outside the trailer. We accidentally left the light on all night once and the plastic lens was just slightly warm to the touch in the morning.

I also pried up slightly on the copper contact wires with a very small knife. If you don't want to be too permanent with the super glue try RTV sealant instead. Then you can peel that stuff off when you need to...

I "tinned" the wires. what I did was remove the wires from the base and used a hot soldering iron to add a coating of solder to the wires then reassemble, this fixed the issue for me.
