Jayco 165 ultra lite sport. I can't find a 185/80/13 tire with a adequate weight rating. Camper is 2870 lbs. I don't want tires anywhere near their limit. I found a set on Amazon. Carlisle tire and it said the max weight rating was 1800÷ lbs. When they came in the tire said something like 1480 weight rating. Any ideas? Anybody put the 205 14" tires and wheels on? I'm wanting to take the camper on a couple of road trips.

If your loaded camper weight is 2870, remember that at least 10% will go on the tongue. That would take the weight on the tires down to 2583. If that is the weight of the camper before you load it, then I see where you are coming from. Either way, I also agree with you with having plenty of Tire underneath.

Simpletire.com has National Road Max ST's with a rating of 1709. Highly rated by 11 users at that site.

Welcome Aboard!

From what I found online, your dry weight (empty) is 2835 lbs. GVWR (fully loaded) is 3500. The GVWR minus tongue weight (10%, 350 lbs) is what you need to base your new tires off this value.

Your single axle weight should be less than 3150 lbs. So each tire needs to carry a minimum of 1575 lbs. If my info is correct, there is not many 13" tires that can carry that load.

I upgraded to the Carlisle 185/80R13 Radial Trail RH load range D (1710 lbs), from the OEM C rated (1480 lbs) tire. I like them. There is a load range C version of this Carlisle tire. I suspect that is what you ordered.
