Hello
We recently purchased the 2024 Entegra Coach Ethos 20T and are looking for a cargo box that will fit on the Thule roof rack that came standard. Not having any luck getting a size that will fit given the size of the AC unit in the middle and the antenna in the back. Need something really narrow. Any advice much appreciated. Thank you!

After extensive research for a roof box for my skis, I found a used Packasport Freestyler on Facebook marketplace for $150. I couldn't pay the guy fast enough as the new versions are $2k and used are usually closer to $500-700 (if you can find one). This did require me to also buy wider Thule arms for around $225. However, it now fits perfectly, minimal side hangover and looks good. Relatively easy access from the rear.

I had tried my previous Yakima ski box, but it was too wide. I could move the stock Thule bars back enough to just get it on the roof. But, in that case, it was hanging off the back by 18-24".

You could look for older Thule or Yakima boxes (the originals), but they open on the opposite side. Maybe they could be run backwards without a problem.

Good luck on your search. I'd highly recommend the Packasport and with patience you might find one someplace semi near (or worth a camping roadtrip).

The problem I'm having is finding a very narrow (<22"W) cargo box to fit on our rack. The problem is the size of the AC unit in the middle and the antenna toward the back. I struck out with Thule and Yakima. Maybe someone has advice on a soft type carrier that would fit. Need it to be narrow. Thanks.

I wasn't specific on the Packasport Freestyler model. It is close (or under) 22" and was the only one i found. I still couldn't quite get it to work on the stock Thule bars, but it was close. I think the really old models of Thule boxes are also narrow enough, but their locks and openings are on the passenger side, this you'd need to run it backwards for the drivers side.

Cargo box 20 T

I moved my Thule rails over to drivers side a bit and closer together to be able to mount mine ..sorry I don’t know how to add a picture for reference .

That's what I'm planning to do with mine but the key they gave me only works for the two of of the six locks. The locks that work with the key are not on the same rail. SMH. Brought it in to the dealer they said they will replace it. Set up an appointment. Went to the appointment and they said all the parts for the rack didnt come. So going back pending part availability. SMH.

The key that I got with the van worked on one of the four caps I needed to move , I went to a local locksmith and she built me a new one by inserting a blank and filing down the wear spots . It works great for $23.00. And 20 minutes of my time .

I didn't think of that. Should I try that while waiting for them to schedule to replace the freaking whole thing? Hmmmm.

I would it can’t hurt, if there had been a number by on the key insert portion of the locking mechanism my locksmith could have punched it into her computer and the Thule program could have auto-cut one .

I know it's not the roof mount as you requested but this is the route I went with. Very happy with it.

Love the whole setup! Very nervous traveling on back desert roads with nothing but a tire sealer/inflator kit. Like the permanent ladder as well. But most importantly, who makes that cargo box?
Thanks.

I purchased both a trailer hitch carrier and roof-top carrier from Amazon (Weize brand, both with waterproof bags). Quality seems great, but haven't used them on a trip yet. The roof-top carrier can be in 3 lengths, and I used the middle length of 49". Had to adjust the Thule racks in the back a bit closer to fit properly.

The roof-top carrier was a bit of a project - the Weingard sits a bit proud of the Thule racks, so I added spacers made from 1/2 In HDPE. And the brackets supplied were too short so I had to order and modify brackets to fit. But the result is solid. Now to use it soon - hopefully no negatives to report...

Can you explain this one to me? I decided to cancel the replacement of the whole rack.

How would a locksmith build a new key so that it works for the other locks if I don't have the right one to begin. I can't take the lock with me because no have no key to unlock it.

If they can get a number off the lock they can program it into the key cutter machine. If not they start with the proper blank and insect it then turn it gently side to side I think they had something on the key that was visible when they turned it then filed at needed . At least that is what it looked like she was doing . Either way I can get all the locks off .

I drove the van to the locksmith shop in town , put my Thule ladder up and the gal worked off the ladder .
