So we made it to a new campsite this afternoon and when I went to take a shower this evening, I noticed this. I plan to get on the roof in the morning. If it doesn’t go all the way through the skylight, does anything need to be done with this?

Use some tape, like Eternabond of Flex, to repair for now. Then replace when convenient. Replacement isn't too difficult.

I got on the roof this morning. No crack in skylight. Apparently there’s a plastic inner part that’s held in place with 10 screws. So is this more cosmetic than anything?

It's a trim piece to cover the area between the inner and outer roof. You can buy it separately if you want to, but it's just there to hide the "attic" space.

That will drip. Pretty much all cracks do. I just replaced mine a few weeks ago. Took about 2-3 hours. Putting the new cover on is a cinch. 80% of the time was spent hauling stuff up and down the ladder and removing the old adhesive.

It's their inner skylight panel, so there won't be a leak. Better than the outer one. We had a hairline crack on our outer skylight that was from an overtightened screw. Upgraded to a new Lexan one so hopefully the last one we'll need.

I replaced my outer skylight last year. This is the inside and does not need to be water tight. It looks like an overtightened screw to me. I would remove the rest of the inside screws and inspect it. You will then be able to see that as stated by others, that piece is just a cosmetic piece to keep you from looking at the bottom of the real skylight.
Maybe a small piece of sturdy tape on the inside and make sure to snug but not wrench them down.

That reminded me, my skylight has a hail hole two years ago. I put a small patch of eternabond tape on it as a temporary patch. Lol, I may need to replace the tape.
