Curious To Know

Tank fill is on the door side (front), city hookup is in the rear on the 38FDDS. My 2005 Sunnybrook is the same layout.

Ours is on the door side as well and we've never had an issue. We typically fill at one of the spouts in our campground loop, so it's been a non-issue. And we've been to a different campground each time we've camped the 2 summers we've had our TT. If we have to fill at the dump station, the majority of places we've been at have the fresh water on either side and away from the sewer parts. I get grossed out filling at the dump station though so we rarely fill there.

My 29qbs is also curb side but all the camp sites that we've been to so far (that we neede to fill our tank) has had a fill on that side so I never even thought there was anything different.

Our old '03 Kiwi 17a had it on the "wrong" side. I just got in the habit of hooking up a hose to drag around the front of the trailer. It had to do with where they put the water tank.

Our X20E has it on the "wrong" side also. Strangly enough the tank is an underbelly tank so I can't understand why they couldn't find a sopt for the fill on the "correct" side. Anyway we've had mostly sites with city water the past few seasons so it's not a big deal.

In some ways I think having the gravity fill on the curb side would be a bonus. I usually pull in pretty tight with the left side of the TT to the trees to allow as much room as possible on the site. Mid-week fills with a jerry can are tough when you are climbing through the underbrush to get to the outlet.
Reading this, I had the thought of adding a bypass around the pump to allow the tank to fill from the pressure feed. Then you could have a fill on both sides of the TT. Possibly easier than running the pipe around the outside of the camper and would only take a couple of shutoff's and a foot of pipe (like the HWT bypass).
