Dash Wiring - is this normal?

I was cleaning.my window switches and noticed a lack of neatness behind the dash, some of this stuff I don't know what it is, why it's here. I would feel better about it if it was either gone or run with some sort of cable and wire management strategy.

Anyone else choose to do the right thing and forget they saw this?

Jayco does some of the worst wiring I have ever seen. I had to replace a run behind the dash for the side mirrors, because they had placed the wires above and behind the emergency brake which pinched wires and stopped my mirrors from working. WHAT A MESS.

I ran into it again when I replaced the deadunit.

If you get a chance to watch any RV videos, the question pops up often. The answer usually is " does it work? if so, leave it alone".

As a retired custom home builder/ remodeler, it drives me absolutely nuts. There is no way it would pass an inspection.

Under our bed before clean up for example.

Unfortunately yes that is normal. In my second career I run Operations and a Maintenance shop for a Motorcoach company. I can tell you horror stories about what we find in some high end motor coaches....

Yours looks like someone did a better job on yours, than did on ours.

I took ours apart this week once again, to splice a switch into the IGN line of our head unit. The way Jayco wired ours left it powered up when the house power was left on (for cooling / heating with the thermostats) and the summer heat cooked the unit for the second time.

We are on our third head-unit now... Hopefully it will survive some hot summers with the unit shut down.
