Deceptive 3 year Structural Warrant

I have a 2023 Jayco 264 BHW travel trailer with a vague and misleading 3 year structural warranty. The roof has a protruding area in the middle of the first truss next to the front cap area. It has not broken through the membrane yet but Dealership put in a claim for repair and even submitted a video showing it flexing up and down with hand pressure. The claim was denied because they said it’s not a structural issue. They don’t even know if it’s a truss issue or a plywood issue but say the 3 year warranty does not include the plywood as structural. The warranty does not have verbiage specifying truss or plywood. Every professional will tell you the plywood covering the truss adds to the integrity of the structure and is considered structural. I bought the Jayco brand because of the 3 year warranty but it’s obvious to me they have no integrity with this offer. It’s just a gimmick. I suppose to except their interpretation because Jayco Manufacturing Reps say so. Don’t buy Jayco if you believe they are offering a valid warranty. They do not back their product when it comes to a structural problem. It’s going to cost me $4400 on a trailer less than three years old to replace and it’s just shameful. Never Jayco again!!!

We have a 2022 northpoint that developed a crack in the sidewall up towards the roof, not from damage, we were denied warranty because Jayco says the walls are not part of the structure and only the bones of the unit are covered under the 3 year warranty. Any one who has any understanding of an rv knows that an rv’s structure is comprised of the walls and the framing working together as one. If only the bones of the unit are covered and you can’t ever see those unless you take your rv apart or it breaks in half one day, then that means the three year structural warranty is a joke and nothing more than a marketing strategy. 6000.00 out of pocket to repair an rv that was 2 1/2 years old. These people are criminals and belong in jail, shame on you Jayco.

You're situation is unfortunate, but unfortunately it's common. Buying a different brand might or might not be the answer; they're all about the same.

That said $4400 could be excessive depending on what's found. Once you peel the membrane back you might find a simple, hopefully inexpensive, repair to something that got loose / broken. ... put the membrane back, seal it up, and you're back in business.

I'm not trying to make this a "feel good" answer, but you don't know what you will find until you start. If $4400 was a dealer quote, I would get some others from mobile techs, and it should be based on what's found once inside. Best of luck to you and let us know how it's resolved.

Call Jayco Directly, you will need to advocate for your self and not depend on the dealership to do it. Don't let it slide.

Ask Jayco to read the report from the dear, I have found that the writing skills of the dealership service folks are lacking in getting the point across.

If everyone did enough research no one would buy anything from RV manufacturers.
