Dicor ii roof repair help

Hi everyone. I'm a new Jayco owner as of yesterday. Purchased a 2017 Eagle 355MBQS that we're really excited about.

Long story short - at the conclusion of my maiden voyage towing the new-to-us rig from Phoenix to Salt Lake, I didn't pay enough attention to height at the storage location and tore the roof. I'm really embarrassed and disappointed in myself, especially considering I literally did the damage the same day as purchasing it, but such is life and I am ready to move on to solution mode and looking for help from the experts in this forum.

I understand I have a dicor ii roof and have attached a picture of the damage and how it's been covered with a tarp to protect from the elements.

What are my options here? Is there any repair kit that can perform this job or am I looking at a roof replacement?

ETERNABOND TAPE... Won't look pretty but will seal it up..

It comes in 4" and 6" rolls. Seal the edges with DICOR self leveling.

Maybe a roofer would be able to put new membrane on for you.

I would repair it with Eternabond tape. If you plan to keep the rig long term, check out the sprayed on roofs. Don't waste the $$$ on replacing with the same stuff. No one will see that repair but you and Eternabond will make it more watertight than the dicor if applied and sealed properly.

Welcome aboard! Might as well get the first scratch on day one!

X2, Eternabond is fabulous stuff! You can get it in lots of different widths. In the mean time I would get it dried up and get your tarp on really well before a rain/snow/wind storm comes in and blows it off.

If you decided to do a patch with eternabond, I would also go ahead and tape all the various caulking on top too. This will prevent future leaks.

If you go with your insurance for a new roof, I would strongly recommend a sprayed on roof.

As for the bathroom skylight, Amazon has them, just need to know what size you want.

X2 plus it comes in a couple of colors, you can get it in gray.

If you have full coverage i would do an insurance claim. That's what I did when I ripped my awning off. If not I would go the tape and dicor route.

What this guy said, you have damage and I mean not just the roof---and if you do not want to go that way, that get rolls of ice and water shield, or roofing peel and stick see a roofer, when you put this stuff down it stays,

Thanks for the quick replies and suggestions from everyone. I plan to explore the insurance claim path tomorrow and will make sure the tarp is sufficient for the short term.

Just a minor bump in life. Don’t beat yourself up. As long as no structural damage you’ll be fine. My roof membrane had to be replaced after 6 months of owning (on my travel trailer 6 years ago) Insurance was easy to deal with and the repair shop did it in two days ( better than Jayco).
