2022 Jayco Redhawk. How do I remove the pedestal from the floor so I can convert the dinette table into a bed? It's the single column that I can't budge by simply pulling. I hope I don't have to remove the mounting screws from the base plate.

Thanks. I tried pounding post in all four directions with my hand. Didn't want to bang things up with a hammer. No results. Not even a wiggle.
Any other hints out there?

Wiggling it backing forth from different directions has always worked for me. I had an old Nomad, where the post would jammed in hard. Just took some time. I never hit, just wiggled, sometimes with some force. I've never done it, but you might try a drop or two of penetrating oil.

When wiggling doesn't work, which it does work better after the table pedestal has been removed many times, you really don't have a lot of options. Tapping on the pedestal is not the optimal location and can actually jam the pedestal more as the vibrations allow the pedestal to settle in deeper, instead tap on the base that holds the pedestal while someone is helping by wiggling and pulling upwards. To protect the finish you can use a thin magazine, floor mat, etc. between the base and your tapping tool (commonly a hammer but really anything similar that can provide a jolting vibration between the base and pedestal). ~CA

Not helpful but this thread reminded me of my old Auto Shop teacher. Any time a bolt pushed back, even a little, the call went up "Get me the torch!"

Try putting a 2x4 piece of wood on the base, and where it’s touching the base, smack the board downward hard with a hammer while someone else is pulling up. It might work.
The pedestal for our table in the case of our Alante twists and locks in. Counter clockwise unlocks it. Just thinking outside the box.
