1) It seams to be leaking out of the valve on the foot peddle, I think Is there an easy fix?


2) does not hold water in the bowl. I have added plumbers grease around the seal, did not help. Is this going to be an issue?

Look on line for parts for your model toilet..

#1- Could be a connection that just needs to be tightened, you may need parts.. You'll have to disassemble to find out what's wrong.

#2- Get a new seal for the bowl. You'll definitely want to fix this as odor will come up from black tank without a water barrier.

You'll need to address both issues.

I assume it's a Model 310 or 311? Look at the label on the base of the toilet near the pedal.

Just went through both issues this season with a BRAND NEW Model 310 toilet. (Long story, I had to replace my TT's original Dometic Model 300 toilet.) For starters, you need to check with Dometic to see if it's under warranty. Crawl around and get a photo of that label, which includes the serial number.

You need both a new valve at the pedal, and a new flush ball seal. Don't know the prices, got mine under warranty. But they're easy to install. Hardest part is the Pex crimp on the output hose on the valve. Luckily you'll replace that with a hose clamp. There is no repair for the valve, you must replace it.

Replacing the flush ball seal is also easy, but you MUST get in there and clean the entire area of the flush ball to remove any/all "debris" that might be hanging on. That means gloves. I used a work rag and a strong solution of Dawn.

Then you need silicone plumber's grease for the new seal. Apply plenty.

Hint: Search YouTube for videos on these. There are a few good ones that'll show you how it's done.

If you're at all handy with tools the whole job might take a half hour.

P.S. Be extremely careful not to drop the new flush ball seal down the hatch. You don't want to "go fishing", and you don't want to have to go buy another new one.

Had to replace my flush valve this year too. I think I waited too long last year to winterize and had a hairline crack in it. Once I found an article on how to remove the pex crimp with a small flat screwdriver and needle nose plyers it was an easy repair. I use seal conditioner on my toilet, it seems hit and miss on holding water and I’m sure it’s due for a new seal.

Our Bungalow has 2 Dometic 310 toilets. The one in the half bath does not have trouble holding water in the bowl, but the main bathroom toilet does. I found that pressing the foot pedal all the way down and then quickly releasing it, solves the problem.

When it stops working altogether, we plan to replace it with a standard residential toilet.
