Dual propane hoses and valve

use teflon tape, I just ended up putting a plug in one side and I switch the "Good" hose when my tank is empty. You can buy a hose for about 15 bucks at any RV dealership or big box store.

Found a leaking hose on the dual valve. Can I just replace the hose? And if so what thread sealant is recommended.

Check the end of the hose that threads into the regulator. There are two different ends, one is called 1/4" pipe thread which is tapered, and the other is a 1/4" inverted flare fitting. That one doesn't need sealant. Get the same as you have since they're not interchangeable.
