After a long drive trying to beat the clock and failing we pull into the campground and I unhooked and connected the water and electric. We took off to go to town and is is my habit I turned off the water before leaving.

When we returned my wife complained about the water pressure and a curious sound in the ceiling. Yep, I connected the city water hose to the black tank flush. Once I caught the mistake I turned off the water and then realized I needed to back up about two feet to connect the sewer line. Grrrr. With images of black water filling the vent pipe and dripping onto the ceiling a rushed to hook up and back up to empty my black tank.

Of course I forgot things like removing the chocks and looked like a total newbie. Finally get everything reset, stabilized, tanks drained, and of course hooked up the fresh water to the black tank drain for the second time. After forty years of never making that mistake I do it twice in one hour?!

I'm going to paint the black cap as a warning.

Hey, it happens to all of us at some point. For me, it’s when I’m rushing too much, and almost always with tasks I’ve done a million times. Thankfully, it sounds like no permanent damage was done. Enjoy the rest of your trip!

I'm glad you realized that mistake before it made itself known in a really bad way. Rushing and being tired are like gremlins in your set-up and tear down process.

Last trip we were having a heat wave. Setting up was tedious and arduous. I Tod my sister (who likes to camp with me) I will not rush. I will go at my own pace, as the heat and exhaustion will cause mistakes. I took the time to sit back in the truck for cool-off time and even sat ad ate a sandwich. I think set-up took me 2 hours that day. :)

I did notice last trip when I was going to hook up to black tank flush and noticed it doesn't 'stand out' from the other outlets. First trip it took me a minute to find it. I think the label is either missing or doesn't say exactly "BLACK TANK" on it.

Trip before last I went to raise the stabilizers and wondered why they were so hard to start. I forgot to raise them BEFORE raising the nose of the camper to hook up. I had put a lot of pressure on the rear stabilizers, jamming them up a bit. I didn't make the same mistake last trip.
