Dump site hose cut

Over the past few years, I have ran across a few dump sites where the sewer rinse hose (usually suspended from a spring) has had the threaded hose end cut off. Do campground do this on purpose to prevent people from using black tank flushers? Or maybe some get tired of the connector threads getting damaged and don't replace it. Thoughts?

Or perhaps some RVrs fill their fresh water tank with the unsanitary hose so the park cuts the threaded hose end off in order to help prevent that... I have seen many things at dump stations that most would think would never happen. ~CA

Most seem to be labeled non potable water, I believe the ends are cut off to prevent people from filling their fresh water tanks.

I don’t know about other models but my fresh water fill isn’t threaded. You just stick a female end or ‘hose filler clear tube’ into the port. No matter, who would use that for water, even potable? Yuck! Maybe parks do it to speed up the dump process, pretty much are indicating with the cut end: ‘no flushing here.’

I have a Camco Water Bandit. It slips onto the end of a cut-off hose or a dogged-up threaded hose end. It doesn't work with a high pressure hose but it will allow you to get some water back into your tanks.

X2, not many of our parks have this whip at the dump station, but some do. They all have at least a hydrant, most have a cut section of hose on it.

Last year we were in line to dump. I was speaking with the old guy in front of us while I prepped to dump. He had a really old MH, he said he just bought earlier in the year. He took the cut end of the hose at the dump station and put it in his gravity fill port and filled his FW tank. I commented about it being unsanitary to do so, and there was a Potable water station ahead. He said its all the same water coming out the end of the hose, and filled his tank while I waited to dump.

I just know were that hose was the last time I dumped at that camp. I hope he and his family are healthy.

I'd like to think that it's to deter people from sitting at the dump station for an hour with a line backing up throughout the park as one guy tries to polish the inside of his black tank before they go on the next trip and poop in the same dang tank.

Dump stations, especially if their is a line, should be a quick stop, not a day long adventure.

I think most people will be surprised to see just where that black tank flush is actually hitting. Mine concentrates in one spot, exactly where a poo pyramid would happen. Not spraying the walls, etc.

I have seen that more than once and absolutely would not use the fresh water line at dump stations for filling any potable tank. People are slobs.

Yep,I have learned that and now carry a temporary hose end so I can flush my black tank.

Mine is threaded on my Jayco 29MV. Just switch 2 valves and fill water from city connection.

I once saw the metal end of a dump station hose that got run over and smashed almost closed. Some people don't put the hose neatly away and leave it on the ground. I'm sure the CG owner just cut the end off.
