Duraflame portable fireplace in camper

Just wondering if any of you use a portable fireplace in your camper. Just purchased one to use on our next trip and am concerned it will trip the breaker.

It depends. If it is only in the forties or upper thirties I would to keep the chill off. Any colder and we run the furnace so the tanks and lines don't freeze in the basement

What's the rating on the appliance?


If it's in the 10A-12A range it's close to the same load as an A/C unit.

We use a plug in cube heater. It tops out at 1500 watts which is about all a standard wall plug can handle. It works fine as long as you keep in mind to unplug it in the AM before using coffee pot, toaster, micro wave etc. If you are at a campground that only has a 20 amp power box you will "POP" the breaker for sure.
The Fireplace heater we have at home is also 1500 watts. I think the label on your heater will tell you that info.

Should be fine. Too many people have done the fireplace (permanent install) with great success, plus it's standard on other rigs. No difference. It's a little electric heater.
