I have a 2018 Seneca HJ with 37,000 miles.
On our last trip the check engine light came on. I have a BlueFire so I looked at the codes. BF showed a 5357-31 M Engine - Unknown SPN. Also a 6917-19
Source: 33 (Body Controller)
I took it to the local Freightliner and they say it has a 4713 Engine Fuel Injection Quantity Error for Multiple Cylinders. Their fix is replacing all 6 fuel injectors for a total of $10K parts and labor. They do not address the 2 BF codes.
Has anybody seen or heard of having their fuel injectors replaced this soon?
Here is the write from the dealer:

Confirmed the complaint have MIL on, checked for fault codes at the time found no active fault but only one with recent
occurrences Fault code 4713 Engine Fuel Injection Quantity Error for Multiple Cylinders. Began diag for this fault code
checked for primary faults found none, next checked ecm revision found available updates but not pertaining to code,
checked for TSB found none per code, Next performed injector return flow check found excessive return rate, checked all
connecting tube nuts all are tight. Will need to replace the injectors and connecting tubes. Injector return rate to high, also
recommend replacing fuel filters, perform ECM update to latest available and perform parked high idle regen to confirm all
repairs. Will also clean cross drillings while intake air connection is off

Thanks for any help or insight.

If the injector return flow is high they need to cap off each injector at the rail to find the one that is causing the high return flow. It could possibly be a couple. I have never seen all six causing the issue. It would have caused the low fuel pressure code well before all six became an issue.

First question, are they covering this under the drivetrain warranty? If so, let them throw as many parts at it as they want.

If not, NO WAY would I change all 6 right out of the gate unless you are having noticeable engine performance issues. First thing I would do is clear the code and see if it comes up again. A rough start can sometime through the same codes.

If it is determined that it is an injector, the reason they are replacing all 6 is that once you are replacing one, the labor to replace the other 5 is not that much more. However, the cost of the injectors is not cheap...
