My TT has the 12V Everchill 8.0 top freezer dual swing refrigerator installed. To close the door, either refrigerator or freezer, you need to essentially slam the door past the latch. The dealer suggests this is normal. Does anyone else have this refer and need to do the same to close? Just doesn't seem correct.

Ours was doing that on our walk through. I don’t have a fix for you though because even though the dealer said it was normal, we insisted it was not and the dealer swapped our doors with another unit before we left the lot. I assume it is the same fridge we have.

Update…I opened case with Lippert support and after I few emails for additional information they have a fix! It seems there were some models that rolled out with a bumper issue causing the door to not release the latch as needed when closing the door. Parts on the way! If they don’t resolve a new door is next step.

The replacement parts received and installed today. Problem resolved!

DUAL SWING REFRIGERATOR RUBBER BUMPER ENHANCEMENT
TI-513
REFRIGERATORS

Purpose
The refrigerator door requires significant force to close and latch. In some instances, the refrigerator may appear closed at the seal, but the hinge latch has not engaged completely. This document outlines the procedure to replace the four (4) rubber bumpers (per dual swing refrigerator) with new, taller bumpers (Fig. 1). This will provide additional depth to the front of the plunger.

New Bumper Part Number: 2024003241 14.5mm Rubber Bumper

NOTE: To obtain four new bumpers (2024003241) at no charge, call Lippert Customer Care Center at
432-LIPPERT (432-547-7378).

Procedure
1. Locate the original bumper on the refrigerator (Fig. 2, red circles) and remove (Fig. 3).
2. Install the new bumper (Fig. 4) to extend the depth of the plunger.

No issues with closing mine. I hate how loud and clanky it is when closing. I also hate the fact that it doesn’t cool down much past 48°. Tried everything that ive read and saw online. Everchill is trash.

Interesting you mentioned that. I bought my Jayco last fall and just used it for the first time 2 weeks ago. Ours had to be slammed to shut so under warranty I went back to the dealer and we discovered mine had the problem but another one on the lot did not. Dealer taking to the manufacturer determined it was defective and they ordered a new on, put it on and all it works perfectly now - just like the other one on the lot.

Yes, we have to slam the heck out of the doors to get them to close.

Refrigerator Temps

Our camper is new (Starcraft) with the EverChill Refrigerator. I've been monitoring ittemps and it seems I have to have the frig set at 5 to get temps in the 36-38 range. Set on 4, they shoot up to 40-44.

Normal?

Thanks. 5 is the top end on ours. Sounds like it’s doing what it’s supposed to if it’s 40-44 at setting 4 and 36-38 at setting. Setting 4 would not be for holding food long term like at home. Thanks for the feedback.

On mine they are just small rubber bumpers that pull straight out of the door. Replacements just slip into the space.

Thanks for your info, received my new size bumpers, made a world of difference. Just wondering is it normal for the doors to lift just a bit when closing them?

I replaced ours, made a big difference. Does your doors lift just a bit to go shut? But definitely no more slamming with the new bumpers.
