Exhaust fan died, so upgraded to a Vortex

Our factory exhaust fan died in the x23B, so I ordered a Vortex I from Amazon ($42) with a 3 week lead time, and was pleasantly surprised when it came in three days, and was a Vortex II.

Installed it last night. It would have taken less than 10 minutes, except I had to improvise, as I didn't have the exact long shank screw driver I needed.

It isn't quiet, but neither was the old one. It seems to move quite a bit more air.

Nice mod...., and the Vortex II has been on my to-do list.

The little OEM fan doesn't meet basic bathroom survival specifications.

I have a Vortex II and like it a lot. It moves enough air to actually create a breeze through my whole trailer...

It looks like you just removed the bottom cowl to install it. Did you have to remove anything topside? My fan has died and I need to replace it and am not thrilled about having to rip out the entire housing.

I have installed this on my previous trailer and current one. Nice part is you do not have to go on the roof or disturb the seal, its all done from the inside.

What he said: All from the inside.

If you are slow and careful, like I was, it may take you 30min to swap out.

I also did this mod after factory fan died. Easy switch!

All from the inside. I bought this vs the Fantastic fan for 1. Price differential, and 2. not having to mess with the roof.

I have this same fan but it has the separate motor/ switch to raise the lid. Will this mod work in that configuration?

I did this too

And it does move more air but I with they had paid a little more attention to the tolerance of the the fan cause it's enough out of round to rub against the side.

Anyone have an answer for me? I posted on the amazon source but have not received an answer there. I would like to upgrade mine but am concerned that the lid raising mechanism will not have room when I remove the little fan and replace this one.
