Extend A Stay

I’m installing a propane Camco Extend A Stay on my unit and have a question I can’t seem to find out the answer on. The Extend A Stay comes with a “O” ring tapered fitting to attach to the valve, I believe they call it a “ soft nose” . The original fitting is just tapered without the “O” ring and will be fitted into the other end of the Extend A Stay. Are these fitting compatible with where they are to be used?

Not sure if your rig is different then mine but I installed the extend a stay with zero issues just hooked up in line in the proper direction. Everything sealed tight and it works like a champ. Good luck just test for leaks after installed. Safe travels

Thanks for the reply Trapper. I have done just that. Spending several hours yesterday researching the subject the only mention I could find about the fittings was on the E-Trailer web site. It mentioned both the hard nose and the soft nose (with “O” ring) are compatible unless specifically mentioned by a manufacturer. It also mentioned that the soft nose maybe fitted with a hand wheel instead of a hex wrench fitting. So mine is all installed without any leak issues.

Glad it worked out - I did the same thing. Couldn't find a decent answer so just installed it as is.

Yes, that’s the idea. We’re going to living in the motorhome for 3 months later this summer while our new home being built is getting finished.
